About us
Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.
Our Introduction
In the heart of India, there exists a beacon of hope and transformation – the Swami Vivekananda Foundation (SVF). Established in the year 2014 as a non-profit organization, SVF has dedicated the past eight years to a profound mission: to uplift the forgotten souls, to mend the broken dreams, and to light the path of a brighter tomorrow.
At the core of SVF’s noble purpose lies a burning desire to empower those often marginalized by society – the underprivileged, the underserved, and the differently abled. With unwavering determination, SVF employs a diverse set of strategies to uplift these communities and create sustainable opportunities that promise not just survival but thriving.
The foundation’s vision is nothing short of a societal revolution – one where empathy and interdependence reign supreme. In this vision, every individual is recognized for their unique abilities, and equal opportunities are the cornerstone of progress. In a world driven by technology, SVF has championed digital education as a bridge to this brighter future.
But it’s the people behind SVF who truly make the difference. Their dedicated and passionate team doesn’t merely work, they transcend barriers. They blend their own life experiences with the power of technology, ensuring that the youth they serve extract every ounce of benefit from the resources at hand.
SVF has set specific goals that read like a manifesto of change:
To prepare students for integration into mainstream schools and vocational rehabilitation, granting them not just economic independence but the priceless gift of societal acceptance.
To bestow technology and quality education, nurturing skills that constantly evolve, enabling a life of dignity and self-sufficiency.
To embrace the latest technological advancements, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age.
To tirelessly work towards a world where barriers, physical and metaphorical, are dismantled, even in the realm of entertainment.
Impact assessment is not just a buzzword here; it’s a relentless pursuit of excellence. SVF’s assessments include feedback questionnaires, profound case studies, and personal follow-ups in remote corners of the nation. They have partnered with like-minded organizations to extend their reach and impact.
With over eight years of experience, SVF’s commitment to digital education and assistive technology solutions has touched the lives of thousands who face myriad challenges. Their free computer training initiative alone has uplifted more than 10,000 students.
But SVF doesn’t stop at education. In times of crisis, they emerge as a guiding light. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they installed ventilators, distributed PPE kits and masks, and fed the hungry. Their selfless service led to a well-deserved recognition from the District Magistrate.
Presently, SVF is actively engaged in numerous projects, from distributing essentials to rural areas to expanding technical education across households. Their mission is a digital revolution, reaching into the very heart of India’s villages.
In the end, the Swami Vivekananda Foundation isn’t just an organization; it’s a promise. A promise of a brighter future, a promise of inclusive progress, and a promise that no dream is too distant to achieve. It’s an embodiment of the spirit of Swami Vivekananda himself – a beacon of hope for the forgotten and a catalyst for change in the lives of many.
Our approach
Our Mission
Our mission is to make sure all young people and children get all the support they need, when they need it, no matter what it is.
Our Vision
We want to build a world where no child or youth feels alone and gets every possible help they need as soon as possible.
Work Experience
SVF’s journey in the education and social welfare sector spans 8 years. We have provided free computer training to over 10,000 students, initially starting in Brahma Puri, Dehradun, and expanding to various locations. Our technical training programs reach even remote areas, such as Gwadi in Pithoragarh district. We continue to extend our technical education initiatives to youth across Uttarakhand.
In addition to education, SVF has successfully completed projects in collaboration with organizations like ONGC. These projects include the installation of ventilators, distribution of PPE kits, masks, and food to frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through ONGC’s component plan, we have contributed to the welfare of SC and ST students in Chakrata block, Dehradun, by distributing trek suits, installing street lights, and providing essential equipment to local organizations.
